Behind the Poll
Some people believe that Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has too much power. They argue that she has become a “de facto” president, passing legislation and issuing orders without consulting with or getting approval from President Donald Trump. In their view, this concentration of power in one person’s hands is dangerous and undemocratic.
Others believe that Nancy Pelosi is simply doing her job as the Speaker of the House. They argue that she is passing legislation that is supported by a majority of Americans and that she is within her constitutional rights to do so. In their view, Nancy Pelosi is a competent and effective leader who is taking action on the issues that matter most to the American people.
So, who is right? Is Nancy Pelosi’s power a danger to democracy, or is she simply doing her job as the Speaker of the House?
There are valid arguments on both sides of this issue. However, ultimately, it is up to the American people to decide whether Nancy Pelosi has too much power.
