Behind the Poll
There is much discussion these days about whether or not Joe Biden is fit to be President of the United States. Some say that his cognitive decline is too great, and others point to his history of gaffes and inappropriate touching as evidence that he is not suited for the job. But what does the evidence really tell us?
On the one hand, some argue that Joe Biden is clearly in cognitive decline. They point to his recent gaffes, such as when he called himself “Joe Hiden” and said that he was running for the Senate, as evidence that he is no longer mentally sharp. They also say that his physical awkwardness is another sign of his declining mental state.
On the other hand, others argue that Joe Biden is still quite sharp and that his gaffes are simply due to his age. They point out that he has been in public life for over 40 years and has only started making these types of mistakes in recent years. They also say that his physical awkwardness is simply a result of his tall stature and that he is not actually physically uncoordinated.
