Behind the Poll
The debate over whether or not illegal immigrants should be granted universal healthcare is one that has been ongoing for many years. There are valid arguments on both sides of the issue. Those who are in favor of granting illegal immigrants universal healthcare argue that everyone deserves to have access to quality healthcare, regardless of their legal status. They also point out that many illegal immigrants are working hard and paying taxes, so they should be entitled to the same benefits as everyone else. Opponents of granting illegal immigrants healthcare argue that it’s unfair to taxpayers who are already struggling to pay for their own healthcare. They also believe that it’s not the government’s responsibility to provide healthcare for those who are in the country illegally.
There is no easy answer to this debate. Both sides make valid points. Ultimately, it comes down to a question of fairness. Do we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their legal status? Or do we believe that illegal immigrants should not be entitled to the same benefits as those who are in the country legally? Whatever your opinion on this issue, it’s clear that the debate is not likely to be resolved anytime soon.
